After some messing around on my iPad while we chatted I was happy I’d corrected it. in Memento Mori they take excerpts from Alan Watts, a philosopher I had no clue existed until Architects, and spread it throughout this emotional rollercoaster of a song to better. He raps his verses while smoking a cigarette, and carves Memento mori. Originally my design said momento so he corrected me on the day and said it’s MEmento. it’s a similar vibe to Self Care, but this is a heavy band so they were able to take the concepts of oblivion and explore with a much, much darker light. Self Care is a song recorded by American rapper Mac Miller for his fifth. Think of this single as a bold statement that he has returned! “Self Care” is an ode to his past self and promises to maintain a healthy state of being. A friend of mine got me to do a memento mori tattoo on him a few years ago. This symbolizes that he refuses to die any time soon. As he looks around with a flashlight in hand, he calmly lights a cigarette and begins smoking.
